Our Experts Bring Back the Latest Trends in Eyewear from MIDO and Vision Expo
Our team of experts have just returned from the highly anticipated MIDO Eyewear Show in Milan and Vision Expo in New York City. As always, they were spectacular events where the latest trends and designs in the eyewear industry were showcased. These events are the perfect opportunity for us to see the latest trends in eyewear and bring back the best selection of frames for our stores. In this post, we'll share with you the top trends we saw at these shows.
The Latest Trends
At both MIDO and Vision Expo, we noticed that many of the collections were displaying frames with "previous trends." For example, green frames were still prevalent in current collections, and there were few frames showcasing the Pantone color of 2023 - Magenta. However, two collections that did showcase Magenta were Anne Et Valentin and Chrome Hearts.
We also noticed that brown is becoming more popular than black. Many collections are offering multiple variations of tortoise, translucent brown, and chocolate brown. This neutral color is a great alternative to black for those who want a more classic look.
Another trend we saw was the return of rectangular shapes. These frames have a more "narrow and wide" look compared to the "deep square" frames we've seen in the past. We also saw flat brow lines in many sunglass shapes.
Thick frames were also prominent at both shows, both in metal and acetate. Even collections that typically present a thinner profile were showcasing bolder, stand-out frames. One brand that stood out was Loewe and their "Bubbles" sunglass collection.
We also had the opportunity to network with other industry professionals, including designers, manufacturers, and retailers. These connections are important for us to stay up-to-date on the latest industry news and form partnerships that help us bring the best products to our customers. New Releases
At the shows, we also saw many new releases from popular brands like Chrome Hearts, Jacques Marie Mage, Anne et Valentin, and Lindberg. Chrome Hearts showcased a variety of bold colors like Magenta and Lime Green (solid, not translucent). They had great women's optical in a narrow shape and beautiful sunglasses. A standout piece was a men's square acetate with a rounded metal temple, as well as a strong men's rectangular sun that is sure to be an easy sell. They even created a mold-injected solar shield.
Lindberg is a brand that has been making waves in the eyewear industry due to their unique craftsmanship and attention to detail. At the shows, they showcased their latest releases, which included a variety of sleek and minimalist designs that are sure to turn heads.
